Little Athletics ACT Awards
Little Athletics ACT held their Annual Dinner and presentation on Sunday 15th April 2012 at the Woden Southern Cross Club.
The ALAC team was introduced by Lauren Boden and the annual awards were presented.
ANNUAL AWARDS:
Champion Centre - (overall points winner from the ACT State Championships) - WODEN
Small Centre Trophy - (calculated by the number of points accumulated at ACT State Championships multiplied by the number of qualifiers. The registration numbers must < 100) - COOMA
Chairmans Trophy - (Calculated by the number of points accumulated at ACT State Championships divided by the number of qualifiers divided by the number of registrations) - WODEN
Centre of the Year - (voted by the BOM) - WODEN
Yes Woden sweeped the pool. We can take great pride in these awards. Not only do they recognise athletic achievement on the track, but they also reward participation rates, registration numbers, the quality of weekly meetings (including On-Track), contribution to the Board of Management and it's sub-committees, and other contributions to the sport. So, a big THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS to all of our athletes that participated throughout the year, their parent volunteers, coaches and our dedicated committee. We look forward to ongoing success, and above all else, fun while we're at it!

Australian Junior Athletic Championships in Sydney 2012
2012 LAACT Championships - 23/24/25 March 2012 Results now available
The WLAC committee would like to express a heartfelt thanks to all the athletes who participated and performed so well at the ACTLA Championships over the weekend.
We would like to say an even bigger thank you to all the parents and carers who not only supported their athletes but also assisted the club in fulfilling its assigned duties at the carnival. Part of the fun and reward of athletics is the ability to actively participate and get to know the sport. We understand this sometimes requires great co-ordination and juggling against other competing commitments. Without your help running carnivals and encouraging our kids to be healthy and active would be more difficult.
Results from the weekend are now posted on the Results page.
New Club Records
More records were broken on our final meet for the season which adds to those already broken during the season. Congratulations to Batu Byrne, Lillian Van Ewyk, Capella Maguire and Keely Small who broke various club records on 17th March 2012. For these and a list of the other records broken this season, please go to our Club Records page.
Woden Carnival
Thanks to all athletes for attending the Woden Carnival. And what started as a cool and damp early morning turned into a warm and sunny day with a good time had by all. The WLAC committee would like to thank all parent helpers for their assistance through out the day.
Results can be found on the Results page.
Congratulations to all those athletes that broke previous carnival records in various events. Select here to download an updated list.
