Multi Event Carnival (usually November)

This competition is similar to the heptathlon and decathlon at the Olympics but a lot less demanding. Each participating athlete is expected to compete in either four or five events (depending on age). In general these consist of a short and longer run, a throw and a jump. Points are awarded according to performances. Placegetters in each event are recognised as well as the overall point score winner in each age group.

Relay Carnival (usually December)

Athletes from each age group from under 7s and above will have the opportunity to run in both a short and a long relay, as well as do a jump and a throw. This allows athletes to compete as part of a team. We will select teams in the weeks leading up to the carnival so that they can practice as a team before getting to the carnival.

This is organised by a committee made up of officials from the Southside ACT clubs and requireS substantial parental support. This is the only way for athletes to qualify for the ACT Championships.
